Christian Education at St. James the Less

Adult Bible Studies

There are two different Bible studies at St. James! One of these studies is certain to be of interest to you! (Please scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page to read about each of the studies).

Weeknight Bible Study Group — Topic: "A Journey Through the Old Testament"

The weeknight study group is still reading "A Journey Through the Old Testament" this year, guided by Joyce Peel's book of that title. We are finding it fascinating to learn to navigate the terrain, see where the different authors are coming from, and discover how the various trails link together. We meet from 7:30 pm to 9 pm on Monday evenings (first, third - and, when it exists, fifth - Monday of the month), with a more flexible schedule over the summer months. Before each Monday night gathering, we trek through a swathe of the Old Testament, as guided by Joyce Peel, so when we meet, we have plenty of reactions, questions and issues to discuss! It is only in reading the whole Old Testament that you begin to understand how it fits together. We'd love to have you along with us too. Further details from Simon Babbs (847-446-5251) or e-mail us at thebabbs@comcast.net.
