Lenten Series 2010: Wednesdays February 24, March 3 and 10 from 7:30 - 9:00 p.m. Have you ever wondered, "if God is loving and good and all-powerful, why does evil exist in the universe?" If so, come to our mid-week, three part, Lenten series on "C. S. Lewis and the Problem of Evil". We will be watching and discussing a DVD, filmed at Willow Creek, of 3 talks by Jerry Root, PhD (Assistant Professor of Evangelism and Leadership at Wheaton College and Graduate School). These talks explore C. S. Lewis' writings on the problem of evil in the world and compare and contrast his writings with the book of Job to see what God has to say about this issue. Do come and join us! Sign up on the bulletin board if you plan to come so that we know how many handouts to prepare. See the Rev. Jane Schaefer or Sue or Simon Babbs, for more information.

Good News: Every first Tuesday of the month our parish serves a meal at the Good News Community Kitchen. If you would like to bring food or serve, please sign up for Tuesday, March 2. Any questions can be directed to one of our Good News Coordinators, Kathleen Cleven or Betsy Tracy.

Have a Heart: Donate a Uniform! In 2002 the United Nations proposed Millennium Development Goals as a concrete action plan to reverse the poverty, hunger and disease that affect billions of people worldwide. These goals were endorsed by the Episcopal Church at General Convention 2006. Bishop Lee has challenged EACH member of the Chicago diocese to contribute $12 to purchase a uniform for a child in a third world nation. There are currently 75 million children under age 10 who are not in school because they lack a school uniform. Two-thirds of these children are girls. This is our opportunity to change this number. Please donate $12 for each person in your family to support Bishop Lee's goal. We are asking the children to work with their parents on either donating their own money or doing an extra home chore or two to earn their $12. Please make your check payable to St. James the Less, writing Uniform in the Memo Line. There is an envelope on the Bulletin Board in the Parish Hall for your contribution. Thank you!

Winter Coat Collection: Cory Schipfer is collecting coats for Lake Cook Healthcare Center, thru December. You can drop the coats off at Schultz and Odhner's Drycleaners, 1152 Central Ave. Wilmette, and receive a $5.00 coupon for each coat donated.

Supporting Our Troops: You can send a thank you card to a soldier serving in Iraq by going to this website: www.LetsSayThanks.com You select a card and Xerox will print it and send it. It's free and takes only a few seconds, courtesy of Xerox.
