Holy Week & Easter
Palm Sunday - March 2810:00 a.m. -- In-person and Livestreamed Eucharist, Traditional Eucharist with Palm Blessing and Trumpet Fanfares, followed by Stations of the Cross
Pick up your Holy-Week-in-a-Bag following the Palm Sunday worship. Available for each household, these bags includes items to enrich your devotion and represent each day of Holy Week. For example, a loofah represents the cleansing of our sins, a towel represents service, a black cloth represents Christ's suffering on the Cross, and a candle represents Christ's presence. Bags will also be available for pick-up at the church during Holy Week.
4:00 p.m. -- In-person, Palm Blessing with Stations of the Cross (Outdoor, if possible)
Maundy Thursday - April 17:00 p.m. -- Via Zoom
A fresh take on the themes of service, love and communion using bath bombs, a guided meditation and music. Join St. James the Less community on-line, like the disciples gathered around Christ. The service concludes with a video of the stripping of the Altar with cello music. |
Good Friday - April 29:00 a.m. -- In-person - A Child's Interactive Walk through Holy Week with Miss Cindy. Ages 3-11.
7:00 p.m. -- In-person - New this year with a focus on the Seven Last Words of Christ, this candle-lit service will include music and prayers for the world on this most holy of nights. For those who wish to stay home, a pre-recorded video of the traditional Good Friday liturgy and sermon will be available for you to watch any time on Good Friday. The link published during Holy Week. Easter Day - April 4Our services on Easter will be identical, and will feature trumpets, pre-recorded choir anthems and hymns, and beautiful flowers. We ask that you wear a mask, be prepared to social distance, and make a reservation at the link below.
9:00 a.m. -- In-person and Livestreamed Eucharist 11:00 a.m. -- An in-person Eucharist will be celebrated outside in the courtyard in front of the building, unless it is too windy.
